Broadrake Bunkbarn - Week 41 August 3rd-7th 2015

Plaster board goes onto the blockwork gable wall - gap is for the stove flue pipe
and boarding onto the entrance side wall...

with fiddly boarding around onto the return that is left as open stonework

first layer of insulation goes into the small room ceiling...
with the second layer of insulated plaster board around the velux

flue pipe goes in and is bricked up

filling in the gaps up to the beams in preparation for the final skim

the door casings start to go in downstairs
and insulated boarding starts to go in the downstairs bedrooms

upstairs the door casings are made for the doors into the toilet and the teeny tiny cupboard

by Friday, the builders finally got fed up of telling summer holiday walkers which way to go so they made a new sign.....! note to self - make the existing sign a tad bigger....

by Friday the east gable wall is finished

and thanks to the builders clean up, its all looking very spacious upstairs. Towers are ready for the plaster skim to go onto the ceiling next week...

the boarding in the small snug upstairs is completed
on entering please watch your head!!

and outside Ted finishes the weatherboarding on the back of the wash room

The 3 song thrush babies fledged mid-week, but not entirely able to fly! A couple spent a few days in the veggie patch whilst one persisted in the big barn, continuing to be fed

The house martins are flying in and out, but yet to see any babies.............

and all the swallows young and old are enjoying the freshly cut field in front and swooping under the trees and ambushing the car as it passes by
