The Hill Inn musicians session on the first Thursday of the month goes from strength to strength. We seem to end up with a different mix of instruments and musicians each month to keep things interesting. In January this included melodeon, guitar, whistle, recorder, concertina, mandolin, banjo, cello, hurdy gurdy and introducing hammered dulcimer. We were even joined by Mike Harding, who is as close as we get to a celebrity in this part of the world (http://www.mikeharding.co.uk/).
Mike has recently started a session at the Lion in Settle on the second Thursday. The first hour from 7.00 pm is for beginners and it carries on from there. Three cellos at the last session - is this a record?
The third Thursday is at the Horse and Farrier in High Bentham. We have been going pretty much since we moved here a couple of years ago. It's a friendly session with a great atmosphere and an eclectic mix of tunes and songs. Yesterday we had everything from O'Carolan to Pink Floyd.
Now just looking for something to do on 4th and 5th Thursdays....
